Rock/Rough Buns
Equipment
- Muffin/Cupcake Pan
Materials
- 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 5 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 Large Egg
- 1 Cup Milk (Whole Milk/Cereal Milk or Evaporated Milk)
- ¾ Cup Butter
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- ½ tsp Salt
Instructions
- Grease baking pan and dust lightly with flour then set aside
- Position rack in the center and preheat oven to 350ºF/177ºC/Gas Mark 4
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, butter, nutmeg, salt, and baking powder until you get a rough-like texture
- In a separate bowl, mix the milk and egg lightly
- Pour the milk and egg mixture in the large bowl with dry ingredients until well combined
- Using your hand or a spoon, place equal amounts in the cupcake/muffin pan
- Whisk the last egg and bask the dough lightly in order to get the golden brown color
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until done
- Leave to cool in pans for about 10-15 minutes then remove
- If you would like a more smooth texture, sprinkle a surface with flour and knead the dough LIGHTLY
